IAPDC publishes the Spring edition of its newsletter

The IAPDC has published the Spring edition of its newsletter which is shared with members of the Practitioner and Stakeholder Group (PSG). The newsletter includes a message from Chair Lynn Emslie on her priorities over the coming months, a welcome to new members to the Panel, and an outline of how she would like to work more closely with the PSG.

The newsletter gives an overview of the IAPDC’s activities over the past few months. This includes submitting written evidence to the Justice Committee’s inquiry into the prison operational workforce and the Joint Committee on Human Rights’ pre-legislative scrutiny of the Illegal Migration Bill. It also spotlights the work of Panel members, including Jenny Talbot OBE’s address to Police and Crime Commissioners and Professor Seena Fazel’s work with the Oxford Policy Engagement Network.

The PSG is one of the three tiers that forms the Ministerial Council on Deaths in Custody and helps to inform the work of the IAPDC. The IAPDC encourages practitioners to join the group from a wide range of organisations, particularly mental health settings, as well as families and individuals with lived experience. You can sign up to the group here.
