Everyone wants to turn the tide of suicide and self-harm in our jails. This special report by Inside Time shows how people in prison are part of the painstaking work to prevent harm and death.

In February this year the Independent Advisory Panel on Deaths in Custody (IAP) and Inside Time began collaborating to help keep people in prison safe. Supported by the Samaritans, the IAP called on Inside Time readers to tell us how best to prevent suicide and self-harm.
