NPSA launch 'Patient Safety in Prisons' project

The National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) launched an investigation into improving prison safety today, with a project entitled ‘Patient Safety in Prisons’.
IAP launch research questionnaire on deaths in custody

The IAP has developed a short questionnaire to collate information on the research that is currently planned or underway in relation to deaths or near deaths in all forms of state custody.

The Ministry of Justice has announced today that there were 60 apparently self-inflicted deaths among prisoners in England and Wales in 2009.
