Independent Review of Deaths and Serious Incidents in Police Custody

Dame Angiolini's report into deaths and serious incidents in police custody was published on 30 October 2017. The review looked at the wide range of circumstances around deaths and serious incidents in police custody and of suicides occurring shortly after release from police custody. It involved examination of events from the initial restraint or other circumstances preceding the death, through the investigation and Inquest to the outcome of the formal investigative processes.

British Psychological Society announce their book awards

The British Psychological Society makes its Book Award each year to recognise excellent published work in psychology. Among this year's winners is panel member Graham Towl for his book Preventing Self-Injury and Suicide in Women’s Prisons which he wrote with colleague Dr Tammi Walker.
